What happened to the 'last image/GIF you saved' thread? I think it was >>25 based on my browser history. It was up less than 24 hours ago.

I also can't post in >>1, on posting it tells me 'thread doesn't exist' even though I can access it for reading.

It was the 4 oldest threads again, I'm restoring the backups I made for them in

April

and marking them as read-only because the last time I didn't they got purged. This is only a bandaid fix so someone please audit the code and solve this what the fuck is going on.

If the GitHub code is up to date, the only function to delete posts (aside from the manual post deletion function delete_stuff) is called from trim_database(), and only in the while($threads>$max_threads or $posts>$max_posts or $size>$max_size) loop. I don't have your config file, do you have MAX_THREADS, MAX_POSTS or MAX_MEGABYTES set? I notice there's also an ARCHIVE_MODE setting, might be useful to configure for cases like this when stuff unexpectedly gets autodeleted.

It's probably some SQL faggotry then. MAX_THREADS is set to 1000 and there are currently only 80 active. I was under the impression that MAX_POSTS was used for in thread posting so it would lock after 1000 replies. If that might be the issue I'm disabling that as well. (Shouldn't >>25-san have disappeared when we hit >>1025?) I'll turn on the archive and hopefully that will work.

The first count_posts in trim_database() is called without an argument, i.e. no $parent, so it counts ALL the posts in the database. Not sure how you configure a per-thread limit, but that value seems to dictate the maximum of all posts on the board.

No, because earlier threads had already been deleted, reducing the overall post count.

If that's what caused it, then theoretically, yes. Always make sure to have safeguards (like the ARCHIVE_MODE setting) and backups.

The currently fucked threads are 1, 3, 6, 7, 8, 11, 15, and 25. They seem to get deleted when I rebuild the cache, let me know if they disappear again. There's probably a way to put them back into the table to make them usable again but I'm too retarded to figure it out.

The numbers check out. We've been close (and presumably over) the 1000 posts before, and the 'last image' thread pushed the board over 1000 posts. After that got deleted, we were under 1000 posts again, stopping the cleanup.
